Cursive writing in the US is fast becoming extinct, thanks to the educational Common Core Standards Initiative subscribed to by most of the United States (41 states). A few states like Louisiana, Tennessee and California have included cursive writing in their curricula but most states are going along with the Common Core.

This means that children growing up today will not be able to read the nation’s founding documents like the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution (sound like totalitarianism gone wild?), not to mention old letters written by their grandparents.
