The nose piece on my glasses broke off yesterday evening.

For myopic people like myself, seeing without glasses or contacts is close to impossible. I’m now wearing an old pair of glasses with a stronger corrective prescription and getting eyestrain as a result.

Every time my glasses break (this is the first time in nineteen years, but there have been times before), I’m reminded how dependent I am on them to function normally. It’s a good reminder of human limitations that have to be supplemented with man-made technology.
