Mounding Potatoes

I mounded my potatoes yesterday afternoon. Potatoes exposed to sunlight become green due to chlorophyll production and it is often an indication of solanine and chaconine (a glycoalkaloid poison) buildup in the potato, which makes them too bitter to eat. Mounding prevents the sunlight from reaching the potatoes.

Before mounding (I mounded them once about a month ago).

After mounding (土寄せ後)
